“Breathe Life into Every Child”
World Pneumonia Day 2025:
This day, November 12, marks World Pneumonia Day, a global reminder that pneumonia
remains the #1 infectious killer of children under five. It is a silent
emergency—stealing young lives in communities where healthcare access, clean
air, and nutrition are still out of reach. Despite medical advances, pneumonia
still claims over 700,000 young lives annually. This year’s theme calls
us to act boldly and compassionately to protect every child’s right to
breathe, grow, and thrive.
This Year We should Focus on Child
Survival.
Please spread awareness to each corner that
following actions do matter…….
1. Prevention Through Vaccination:
- Pneumococcal
and Hib vaccines are lifesavers.
- Measles
and whooping cough vaccines also reduce pneumonia risk.
2. Nutrition & Breastfeeding:
- Malnutrition
weakens immunity.
- Exclusive
breastfeeding for the first 6 months is a powerful shield.
3. Early Detection & Treatment:
- Fast
breathing, chest indrawing, and fever are red flags.
- Timely
antibiotics and oxygen therapy can save lives.
4. Tackling Environmental Risks:
- Indoor
air pollution from cooking fuels is a major culprit.
- Outdoor
pollution and poor ventilation worsen respiratory
health.
- Clean
air is not a luxury—it is a right.
🌟 Let Us Unite for
Breath, for Life
Let us commit to equity in healthcare, clean
air for all, and a future where no child dies from pneumonia. Every
breath matters. Every child matters.
